Founder of Hayaan Tech

My name is Aisha Absia, a marketing professional with 10+ years’ experience in EMEA. I’ve worked in both B2B and B2C within the technology and telecommunications industries. Working with the world’s most renowned brands both in-house as well as clients including Samsung, Corning, MARS Inc, Johnson & Johnson, HERE Technologies (Nokia Maps) and Intel.

I was born in Saudi Arabia, raised in the UK and have lived and worked in Germany, Somaliland, and the United Arab Emirates. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and immersing myself in different cultures, I’m fortunate to have visited 44 countries so far.

Last year I took a career break and fulfilled a life-long dream, to launch an NGO combining my passions; Africa, technology and youth empowerment. My journey began by spearheaded the launch of Women in Tech Africa – Somaliland Chapter, resulting in end-to-end events management achieving a brand-new database of 120+ new members and national TV coverage on SLTV and Horn Cable TV. I then founded Hayaan Tech, an online community platform to motivate and inspire Somalis to pursue careers in tech.
